Each player of this game starts with 6 weird things about themselves. People who get tagged need to write a blog entry of their own 6 weird things. They should state the rule clearly as well. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to tell them they've been tagged and ask them to read your blog.
6 weird things about Me:
1. I used to enjoy watching Jai alai games on TV, just for fun. Just like how I enjoyed watching those Chinese movies without translation.
2. I only eat raisins that come in a box. If they're mixed with any other food, I throw them away. 3. I have an eyebrow fixation. I pluck my brows almost daily.
4. My favorite vegetable is ampalaya. Got used to the taste after all those years of forced feeding.
5. I've always enjoyed watching Eat Bulaga since I was a kid, and even wanted to join Little Miss Philippines. Seriously.
6. I sleepwalk and sleeptalk. Happened more often when I was younger.

guilty as charged
an old forwarded email which, i re-read while cleaning my inbox.
F A M I L Y
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

lightbulb moment
i've been a bit uninspired and depressed about this one aspect of my life for quite some time now. thus making me a monstrous, sulking little biatch-- sooo not a nice person to be with. and after my recent mishap, i realized (or finally admitted to myself) that i need a major change in this area if i want to be truly happy. the thought that i could've died then (i'm such a drama queen!), without fulfilling my dream, scared the crap out of me.
and so, i was really glad to have met up with shalu this afternoon as she was able to shed some light on my problem. she shared her newfound "positivity", brought about by her recent freedom from a crippling problem similar to mine. in short, she helped me get a glimpse of the so-called light at the end of the tunnel. waking me up to take big steps to get out of it.
so now i'm verbalizing it: i am on my way to making wonderful changes in life, finally! and as the tv show title goes, "abangan ang susunod na kabanata!" :D
